Information booklet for anyone interested in joining the WRAC (TA). Questions answered: How much of my spare time must I give? For what period can I join? What am I paid? What about uniform? What job can I learn? Is it all work? Accompanied by photographs and a list of Territorial and Auxiliary Forces Associations across the UK. The Women’s Royal Army Corps (WRAC) was a corps to which all women in the British Army belonged, unless you were a medical, dental or veterinary officer or a chaplain. It was formed on 1 February 1949 as a successor to the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS). Its members performed administrative and other support tasks. The WRAC was disbanded in April 1992 and its remaining members transferred to the Corps they served with.
