Letter (copy), presumably transcribed by Lt T M Layton [?] of two letters, the first from F [?] J Jackson, Kandi Station, 7 Jun 1898, and the second from Lt Col W A Broome, Eldoma Ravine, 10 Jun 1898.
The correspondence relates to instructions that ‘no scouts be allowed along the Ravine-Kandi road unless accompanied by an escort of not less than 10 rifles’, following the murder of a ‘Washimgishu’ guide on this road.
