Ms letter written by Capt James Girdlestone, 2nd Bn 31st (Huntingdonshire) Regiment, to his mother, from Albuera, May 1811, describing at length the Battle of Abuera, an account of the Siege of Badajos, casualty numbers, praising the Spanish Army, the great losses suffered, and French Army losses; associated with the Peninsular War.
