Letter from Lt Col Standish O’Grady to his father the 1st Viscount Guillamore, dated Gournay 28 Dec 1815. O’Grady begins this letter wishing his family a Happy Christmas and complains that the weather is very poor in France. He again expresses a hope that he may be able to return to England, perhaps through posting to the regimental depot. Hen mentions that Verner and other officers may return from being wounded at Waterloo, but might not do so until receiving a War office order to do so. He is concerned about the health of his two horses, particularly his ‘little Grey’. He concludes with some society gossip and news. Typed transcript in a separate folder.
