Description
British Field Post Office franked cover sent to Hewitt from Bug H Champ, 1st Bn Rifle Brigade, 20 Sept 1900. The cover bears a cartoon expressing the wishful sentiment that the canteen might issue free beer. From 14 documents relating to the military service of Pte Harry Hewitt of the Dorsetshire Regiment, 1890-1902. During the Boer War, Hewitt was a recalled reservist.
