Manuscript letter to Mrs Bourne from Capt Dennis Herbert James Ely in Durham, 15th Bn Durham Light Infantry, nd (early 1915); he thanks her for the parcel of food and clothing and describes the rigours of physical training; Ely was killed in action at Fricourt, 2 Jul 1916.
