Description
Letter from Lt Henry Clifford of the Rifle Brigade to his father dated Fort Beaufort 6 Dec 1852. Chief Macomo is apparently trying to get the Kaffirs to make another stand. The Hottentots are in a state of great destitution.’ Associated with the 8th Cape Frontier War (1850-1853).
