Description

Letter to Lt Dugmore from Michael Moses in Masindi, 13 Jan 1898. Responds to recently received orders and assure Dugmore that everything has calmed down in Masindi. An odd aside: a man ‘acted as a maniac,’ as if the ‘devil had got hold of him’ but was hospitalised for the night and was fine in the morning. From a collection of 116 letters and papers relating to Lt William Francis Brougham Radcliffe Dugmore (1868-1917) during the Uganda Mutiny, November 1896-January 1899. Collected by W Lloyd-Jones, author of ‘KAR: being an unofficial account of the origins and activities of the King’s African Rifles’, 1920s.
