Secret documents giving orders to the component units of the Division for advancing and occupying the bridges and towns along the Maritza River in Bulgaria.
Also deals with the military issue maps titled ‘Adrianople’ and ‘Rodosto’ mentions the fact that a strip of territory 11km wide exists for which there is no map in use.

Hanby Holmes served with the Artist’s Rifles and 6th Bn The Durham Light Infantry.
By the end of the war Hanby Holmes was attached to the Royal Engineers for Army Signal Service.
Papers were collected primarily while serving on the Salonika Front during World War One (1914-1918).
