Description
Letter to 23207 L/Cpl Frank Bentley, 2nd Bn Grenadier Guards, from his brother Cpl Arthur Bentley, Royal Army Medical Corps; written on the 5 Nov 1917 and returned on the 26th Feb 1918 stamped, ‘Killed in Action’; in it Arthur expresses his wish that 1917 will be the last wartime Christmas and the Christmas 1918 will be spent peacefully together; Frank Bentley was killed in action at Gauche Wood, near Gouzeaucourt, 1 Dec 1917; his name appears on the Cambrai Memorial, Louveral.
