Papers covering the death of Major William Stephen Raikes Hodson, consisting of ms telegrams breaking the news on the 12th March 1858, letters of condolence to his widow including letters from Dr Anderson and Hugh Gough, mixed accounts of the circumstances leading to Hodson's death, together with an account of the sale of property of his wife Susan Hodson (12 Nov 1858), and proposal leaflet to erect a memorial window in Colwich Church (April).
