US Army bush hat, 1995 (c). From uniform worn by Capt Andrew Michael Banks, Military Police, Croatia/Bosnia 1995 and Albania 1999. Bush hat. Khaki cotton drill. Made in camouflage patterned cotton drill. To either side two blackened metal eyelets at equal intervals. At front a union flag badge hand stitched in place. On cap band a 2 cm wide band of khaki braid stitched at intervals to form loops for insertion of camouflage material. Brim, 6 cm deep with seven rows of machine top stitching. Attached to inner cap brim a 1/2 cm wide khaki braid chin strap adjusted by using tan coloured leather two-hole tab.
