NAM.1974-02-31-5
A handwritten copy of letters copied by Charlotte Maxwell, originally written by Francis Maxwell to her. He discusses the weather conditions and states that he does not wish that his wife will share the bad weather conditions they are facing on the Western Front. He mentions how their is a battle on their flank, and the squalor conditions that they are facing. He later talks about moving to better conditions on 6 July, describing his lodgings as being the size of a P&O cruise cabin. Maxwell aslo describes how water is being rationed and is not permitted to be used for anything other than drinking. At the bottom of page 4 is a letter to Nina, Francis Maxwell's sister from Charlotte Maxwell telling her that she can keep the copy.
