Shoulder protection piece, other ranks’, Calcutta Scottish Volunteers, worn by Pte S Halstead, 1916 (c). For attaching to left front shoulder of doublet. Scarlet serge. On upper and lower corners of arm hole side a brass hook. On upper corner, neck side, a buttonhole. Two buttonholes at front edge. Buttonholes reinforced on underside with tailor's canvas.
