Description
Manuscript copy of a letter, dated 30 Jan 1855. Written by Sgt Charles Douglas, 1st Bn The Rifle Brigade to his father from the steam transport Sydney off Scutari. In it he describes his debility through dysentery. There is a later addition on the 7 Feb from Coolalie near Constantinople. He mentions he is recovered and acting as a storeman. Associated with the Battle of Inkerman, Crimean War (1854-1856) 1854.
