Manuscript letter from Trp Sgt Maj (later RSM and Riding Master) George Cruse, 1st (or Royal) Dragoons, to his wife, from camp near Balaklava, 14 Feb 1855. Considering the recommendations sent to Horse Guards in the hope of getting him a commission. Associated with the Crimean War (1854-1856).
