Manuscript letter from James Hawker to Lt William Lee, later Lieutenant Colonel, 16th (or The Queen’s) Regiment of (Light) Dragoons in Thetford, Norfolk, 1791 (c). The letter apologises for not being able to fulfill his promise due to his indictment over an incident with his dog. He informs him he has since been acquitted and will stay longer when Lee returns. From a collection of 112 letters and envelopes addressed to Lt Col William Lee, 5th Baronet, 16th (or The Queen’s) Regiment of (Light) Dragoons, 1749-1810. Also includes photocopies of other letters from the same correspondence.
