The sketchbook was sent as a memento to Mr and Mrs C Ridge, the uncle and aunt of Lt Ridge. The watercolours on p28 and p30 are copied from ‘An Historical Account of the rise and progress of the Bengal Native Infantry from its first formation in 1757, to 1796...’, published in 1817.
