Studio portrait photograph of Capt Joseph Henry Francis Harrington Hudson, 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards, 1864. He appears to be wearing a Hussar style uniform with braided tunic and sash and what looks like a bicorn hat resting on the piece of furniture that he leans upon. Possibly the uniform of the Assistant Military Secretary. He rests one hand on his hip and the other on the hilt of his sword. A large book is open on the small table beside him.

From an album of 110 photographs in the Grenadier Guards Photograph Archive entitled: ‘2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards’, covering the period 1858-1880 (c). Mainly officers portraits. Possibly compiled by Viscount Hinchingbrook.
