Sent from Lt Gen Colin Campbell when a Lieutenant Colonel of the 44th (East Essex) Regiment of Foot at Arnhem to his wife Polly in Edinburgh.
Letter tells her he has arrived at Arnhem and dined with the Princes there, the Duke of York, Princes Adolphus, Ernest and William of Gloucester and that he has seen Gen Abercrombie to forward his promotion.
