Description
Katar with scabbard, nd. Of exceptional quality. Blade has central rib, with fine polish remaining and reinforced point. Black metal hilt, richly embellished with gold kuftgari leaves and sprays of leaves as are the two cross-bars. Shape of the side bars is spatulate and slightly concave. Brought home with other relics, by Lt Col E Hemery, Royal Engineers. Associated with the Indian Mutiny (1857-1859).
