Description
Scabbard for sword, nd. Gathered by Lt Col George Allen Preston, while on the Tibet Expedition, 1904. Wooden scabbard covered in green leather, and edges of lower part bound with gilt brass. Ornamental copper wrapper completes chape. Upper part bound with coarse fabric and wrapped with a narrow leather strap with gilt buckles. Associated with 40th Pathans and 6th Gurkha Rifles, Tibet (1903-1904).
