Description
Envelope with inscription relating to Sgt Charles Douglas’s letter from the trenches at Sevastopol on 8 Nov 1854. Envelope has a motif showing the tricolour and union flag with the inscription, ‘May they ever remain united’, these envelopes are also mentioned in his letter of 22 Dec 1854. Associated with the Crimean War (1854-1856).
