Description
Manuscript letter, dated 27 Nov 1901. Written by Pte Harry Thurston during his service in the Boer War with 2nd Bn King’s (Shropshire Light Infantry) to his friend Arthur from Lydenburg, Transvaal. He expresses his war-weariness and the fact he is, ‘thin as a rake, weary and disgusted with the world in general and S. Africa in particular’. Associated with the Boer War (1899-1902).
