Description
Printed coloured postcard with cartoon illustration, Prisoner of War - its a long way to Tipperary showing 3 bandsmen escorted by 2 boy scouts. Inscribed and dated 8 Aug 1915, written by Pte Harold Stanley Harvey, 2nd London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers) from the trenches to Albert Morgan Hewlett. Harvey was killed on the Somme on 10 Sept 1916 and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. Associated with World War One, Western Front (1914-1918).
