Letter from ‘Reg’ - Sgt Robert Black, 10th Bn Black Watch (Royal Highlanders)- to his father, 11 Jun 1917.
Finished 6 day bombing (ie grenade throwing) course. Trekked for 3 days after. Heat is unbearable, now plagued with flies on top of stifling weather. Hopes war will end before winter. Asks about a David, as well as a Bill Donaldson. Hopes he is feeling better after illness. No word from Glasgow Corporation about parcel. Speculated that it might have been torpedoed.
Associated with World War One, Salonika (1914-1918).
