Letter, typescript copy of correspondence between the Commissioner’s Office, Entebbe, Uganda, and Arthur Coles, Entebbe, 20 March 1901.
It relates to a proposed French Expedition ‘from the East Coast to Lake Rudolf, ostensibly for scientific purposes.’ 
The government has denied permission for this, due to the ‘disturbed state’ of that part of the country, but it is believed that the expedition leaders are intending to proceed regardless.
