Arthur’s Coles’s 24 page draft copy of his inspection report, 20 Dec 1902.Coles reports on the inspection of the Nyando Valley, Uganda, through which a railway runs, which he carried out in response to a despatch from the Consul-General calling for a ‘scheme for dealing with any sudden rising of the Lumbwa, the Nandi, or the Lumbwa and Nandi combined’, and makes proposals for such a scheme.
Accompanied by a typescript covering letter (copy; torn), from Arthur Coles, Entebbe, Uganda, 3 Jan 1903, to HM’s Commissioner, Commander-in-Chief, and Consul-General, Uganda Protectorate; and associated notes.
