Ms note written in an unknown hand and entitled ‘Hull Packet December 7th 1813’, possibly sent to the family of Capt James Girdlestone, 2nd Bn 31st (Huntingdonshire) Regiment, explaining that Capt Girdlestone was severely wounded in the latest battle against the French and that he has been wounded three times before . Associated with the Peninsular War.
