Description
Manuscript letter from Trp Sgt Maj(later RSM and Riding Master) George Cruse, 1st (or Royal) Dragoons, to his wife, from camp near Balaklava, 23 Mar 1855. Warning not to believe tales told by soldiers home from the Crimea, and criticising the French troops' lack of courage. Associated with the Crimean War (1854-1856).
