Description
Manuscript copy of a letter from the Admiralty, 1 Aug 1864. Letter rejects Capt John Addison’s proposals for an unsinkable ship and for a method of firing guns sited below the waterline of a ship. From a collection of papers concerning inventions, relating to naval warfare, submitted to the War Department by Capt Addison, late Bombay Army, 1845-1865.
