Three MS letters from Griffiths Jenkins to Lord Dunkelling and Melvill reporting his success in obtaining troops from South Africa for service in India, August to September 1857. Associated with the Indian Mutiny (1857-1859). From papers of Major-General Sir Peter Melvill, Secretary to the Government of Bombay in the Military and Marine Departments 1840-1859.
