Helmet plate, other ranks, 1st Banff Artillery Volunteers, 1902-1908 Die struck white metal. The Banff Artillery volunteers were an auxiliary army unit raised following a huge revival of volunteers in 1859, following fears of a French invasion. This badge bears the Edward VII pattern crown and was designed for wear on the home service pattern helmet.
