Bound MS Book, 4 Feb to 8 Jun 1846, being T Maxwell's Journal, kept during his voyage to India. It includes a list of his companions on the voyage and details of what became of them subsequently. On the inside of the back cover are twelve pen and ink sketches of boats, and men on horseback. The last six pages of the book have poetry written on them, some of which (if not all) was composed by Maxwell himself.
