Photograph of HMS Charybdis pictured at sea leaving Halifax, Canada, 1900-1904 (c). It was an Astraea-class protected cruiser launched in 1893, converted to a cargo ship in 1918 and sold to Bermuda in 1922. Taken by Notman Studio. From an album of 268 photographs compiled by or presented to Lt Col Wadham Heathcote Diggle, 1900-1909 (c). It follows some of his earlier naval service in places such as Bermuda and Newfoundland, before he joined the Grenadier Guards.
