Manuscript letter, signature illegible, to Sir William Lee, Baronet, at Hartwell near Aylesbury, father of Lt Col William Lee, 16th (or The Queen’s) Regiment of (Light) Dragoons, 20 May 1793. The letter informs him his health has improved and that times are difficult for mercantile men because of the fall of several capital houses and the stoppage of the French mail in Pairs or Calais, through which the Spanish mail came. From a collection of 112 letters and envelopes addressed to Lt Col William Lee, 5th Baronet, 16th (or The Queen’s) Regiment of (Light) Dragoons, 1749-1810.
