Manuscript letter from G Smith in Athlone to Lt Col Lee, 16th (or The Queen’s) Regiment of (Light) Dragoons, in Newbury, 5 May 1796. The letter discusses his health and Capt Bucks indelicacy, also Col Wallerton's character which he deems detrimental to the regiment, it also informs him that he is possibly to go to the East Indies. From a collection of 112 letters and envelopes addressed to Lt Col William Lee, 5th Baronet, 16th (or The Queen’s) Regiment of (Light) Dragoons, 1749-1810. Also includes photocopies of other letters from the same correspondence.
