Description

A handwritten copy of letters copied by Charlotte Maxwell, originally written by Francis Maxwell to her. Maxwell discusses in detail the advancement of his troops across woodland, passing through enemy lines. He admires his mens work in successfully crossing the woodland and providing support to the Battalion that were already present. He apologies for his lack of writing as he has been on the attack and finishes the letter by claiming it will be his third night without sleep. The back of the letter is adressed to Nina Maxwell from Charlotte Maxwell.
