Manuscript letter to Mrs Bourne from Capt Dennis Herbert James Ely, 15th Bn Durham Light Infantry, BEF, France, 23 Nov 1915; he thanks her for letters and for gifts of cake for his men; he asks her to mention him to anyone wishing to send Christmas gifts to France as he is trying to collect some for his platoon; Ely was killed in action at Fricourt, 2 Jul 1916.
