Commission of appointment as Quarter Master and Interpreter to 2nd [Madras] Regiment of Light Cavalry with effect from 12 May 1837, issued by Lord Elphinstone, as Governor and Commander-in-Chief, Fort St George ; from papers relating to the Edwards and Morton families, particularly Colonel George Rowland Edwards (1810-1894), 2nd Madras Light Cavalry, and Lt Col Edward Ross Morton, (1855-1913).
