Black and white panoramic photograph of a drawing. Picture is of a port scene where men work on construction. Many Zeppelins are pictured overhead. The border of the picture is inscribed on bottom right, ‘To Ernest Blaikley Esq, with thanks and gratitude from Barnett Freedman Aug. 1948’. From a collection of ten photographs relating to Sgt Ernest Blaikley, 1885-1965, 28th Bn London Regiment (Artist’s Rifles). Blaikley worked as an artist, selling work to ‘Scout’ and ‘Punch’ amongst others. Blaikley also taught map reading and the use of the compass during World War One (1914-1918).
