License, 18 May 1645. Signed by Thomas Fairfax to ‘all officers and soldiers in the Army under my command’. Orders them to permit Sir Edward Hopton to remain in Leicester ‘till his wounds be cured’. From a collection of photographs of 27 documents in Hereford City Library relating to Sir Richard Hopton and his son Sir Edward, knighted in 1604 and 1645 respectively. Associated with the English Civil War (1642-1649).
