Photograph showing an unidentified pilot reclining on grass and stroking a reclining white terrier, 1917-1918 (c).
Behind them are the buildings of a racecourse, including the end of a grandstand block, middleground right.
This suggests that the photograph was taken on a training airfield in a commandeered racecourse as in other photographs.
From an album containing 96 photographs relating to Lt William Charles Carter who served in the Artists’ Rifles The London Regiment from 1913 and 13 Sqn Royal Flying Corps 1917-1918.
