Description
‘The Star’ newspaper, 26 Mar 1930 containing an article on the scuttling of the HMS Glatton, following an explosion and fire at Dover, 16 September 1918. The Glatton was deliberately torpedoed by the destroyers HMS Cossack and HMS Myngs to prevent the potential devastation of the town. Associated with World War One, War at Sea and Home Front (1914-1918). From collection of papers of Nellie Irene Ellingham, Queen Mary’s Army Auxiliary Corps.
