Photograph of a part of the Pettah wall of Ahmednagar, nd. Inscribed, ‘On this spot fell at the storming of Ahmednuggur [sic] on the 8 of August 1803. Tho. Humberstone Mackenzie. Captain in H. M. 78 Reg or Rosshire Highlanders, son of Col. Mackenzie Humberstone, who was killed at the close of the Mahratta War, 1788. This tomb is also consecrated to the memory of Captain Grant, Lieutenant Anderson, the non-commissioned officers, and privates of that Regiment who fell on that occasion.’ Associated with Thomas B Humberston Mackenzie, Capture of Ahmednagar, 2nd Maratha War (1803-1805), 1803.
