Portrait photograph of RQMS Ronald James Mepham, East Surrey Regiment and 7th Battalion, Gold Coast Regiment, 81st Infantry Division, Royal West African Frontier Force, probably taken in India in 1945. He stands in front of trees, wearing his khaki drill service dress. The badge of his appointment as Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant can just be seen on his lower right sleeve - a crown surrounded by a wreath. He was awarded the MBE in 1946 for showing "great personal courage and ability as a leader" during the Burma campaign in 1945. An inscription on the front says 'Love from Ron'. From a collection of six loose photographs relating to RQMS Ronald J Mepham, MBE, East Surrey Regiment and 7th Battalion, Gold Coast Regiment, 1945-46.
