Group photograph of the Officers of the Brigade of Guards at Cove Common camp, Hampshire, gathered for Queen Victoria's Jubilee, 1897. Many are from the 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards, with some Coldstream Guards and Scots Guards (with the distinctive diced banding around their peaked caps) also in the image. They sit or stand in several long rows on the grass in front of trees and tents, wearing a mixture of uniforms. There appears to be at least one soldier wearing service dress including his bearskin cap, but most are wearing patrol jackets and field service caps or peaked caps. Image produced by W. Gregory & Co., London, and F. G. O. Stuart. From a photograph album of 111 photographs entitled '2nd Battalion 1897-1909', relating to the 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards in the UK, South Africa and Gibraltar from 1897 to 1909. Mostly group photos and individual portraits.
