Inventory description: Papers of the Pattern Keeper of the Army Clothing Department, 1858-1920, comprising confirmed regulations and amendments to patterns, together with related correspondence and memoranda regarding supply and amendments, covering all regiments, including the West India Regiments, Army Service Corps, Pensioners of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, prison clothing, Infantry and Cavalry, Schoolmasters, Engineers and Army Pay Corps. Original paper bundles have been placed in archival folders, retaining original order; a card index by regiment alludes to the pattern numbers as given in the ‘bundle’ part descriptions.
