Inventory description: Four photocopy letters, May-November 1900; written from South Africa by Rfm Edward Edinburgh, Section D Reserve Rifle Brigade (Prince Consort’s Own), to his wife and children; letters include details of the Battle of Dalmanutha, also known as Bergendal, in which his battalion was engaged, and comments on the ‘unnecessary hardships and suffering’ of the war; associated with the Boer War (1899-1902).
