Photocopy letter, 20 Aug 1900. Sent by Rfm Edward Edinburgh, Section D Reserve 2nd Bn Rifle Brigade, Sign Post Ridge Camp, Carolina, Transvaal to his wife and children. Gen Lyttelton [sic] receives orders to advance and Rfm Edinburgh provides details of the Brigade’s march from Sandspruit to Amersfoort where a short fight breaks out with the Boers, although Edinburgh’s battalion was not engaged. Edinburgh also remarks on the conditions and hardships which the troops have to endure and his expectations of their next move. One of four photocopy letters, May-Nov 1900.
